| The Kubotan, introduced by Grand Master Takayuki Kubota, is a cylindrical device about 5 1/2" long and 9/16" in diameter, constructed from hard plastic, and has a key ring attached at one end. |
| Although originally developed for law enforcement, the Kubotan has become quite popular with self-defense enthusiasts. The Kubotan is not a replacement for other methods and techniques, rather, an augmentation. Its small size, innocuous appearance, and ease of use provides another effective item in your self-defense tool kit. Attaching the keys you use in everyday life to its key ring increases the odds it will be with you when needed. |
