About Us

      Defensive Training Concepts, Inc. is a company dedicated to providing the highest quality firearms and less lethal training possible. We offer courses ranging from introductory through advanced levels for Handgun, Shotgun, Patrol Rifle (Carbine), Selective Fire, Precision (Scoped) Rifle, Expandable Baton (MEB and ASP), Kubotan, Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) spray, Taser (LE and Citizen), Unarmed Defensive Tactics, and the techniques of Center Axis Relock. We welcome Military, Law Enforcement, and qualified Civilians for group or one-on-one training.
 
      We are located in Staunton, Virginia and conduct the majority of our training courses in the central Virginia area. We are available for travel and are willing to conduct our training courses at your facility. Contact us for more information if you would like to host our training courses.
 
      For citizens wishing to obtain a concealed handgun permit or firearm owner identification card, our handgun courses are recognized by a majority of the states having a training requirement. See the State Map for information on your state.
 
      Randy Smith, our President and lead instructor, has over 30 years of firearms experience and has been conducting firearms and less lethal training since 1999. References are available.
